Empowering Data-Driven Decisions Across the AIM Program

BRAC International
A global leader in development innovation, BRAC International operates across multiple countries to empower communities through education, health, livelihoods, and social protection programs.
Project Overview
BInsight is a comprehensive Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and program performance tracking system developed by Streams Tech for BRAC International. It was designed to support the Accelerating Impact for Marginalized (AIM) program, a bold, multi-country initiative focused on transforming the lives of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) across Africa.
The system enables BRAC teams to collect, analyze, and visualize program data in real time, ensuring transparency, accountability, and adaptive management across all levels of implementation.
About the AIM Program
The Accelerating Impact for Young Women (AIM) program, launched in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is one of BRAC's most ambitious initiatives to date. Operating across seven African countries—Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Kenya. The program aims to directly impact 1.2 million adolescent girls and young women over five years.

Thematic Domains
AIM is structured around three core pillars:
Social Empowerment
Life skills training, confidence building, and peer support groups
Youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) education
Psychosocial support and safeguarding services
Advocacy training to help participants influence policies and community norms
Economic Empowerment
Market-relevant skills development in agribusiness, entrepreneurship, apprenticeships, and vocational training
Access to microloans, startup inputs, and savings groups
Linkages to market actors and financial institutions
Evidence-Based Advocacy
Research and data collection to inform policy and practice
Platforms for youth voices to influence decision-making
Strategic partnerships to create enabling environments for AGYW
Program Scale & Achievements
The AIM program has already demonstrated significant impact in its early years:

Key Challenges
Multi-country complexity
Diverse reporting formats, languages, and operational contexts
Fragmented data collection
Manual tools and inconsistent data flows across field offices
Limited connectivity
Field teams operating in low-bandwidth or offline environments
Delayed reporting cycles
Time-consuming aggregation and validation of field data
Lack of centralized visibility
Difficulty in tracking progress across geographies and indicators
Our Solution: BInsight
Streams Tech designed and deployed BInsight, a cloud-based, modular M&E platform tailored to BRAC's operational realities. Key features include:
System Architecture
Web-based dashboard for program managers and HQ teams
Android mobile app for field-level data collection with offline sync
Role-based access control for country teams, reviewers, and approvers
Integration with GIS layers for spatial analysis of program reach
Monitoring & Reporting
Custom indicator framework aligned with AIM's theory of change
Automated data validation and approval workflows
Real-time dashboards with drill-down capabilities by country, sector, and time period
Exportable reports for donor submissions and internal reviews
Data Synchronization
Offline-first mobile app with sync queue and conflict resolution
Server-side data harmonization across countries and program components
Secure cloud hosting with encryption and audit trails
Learning & Feedback
Embedded feedback loops for field teams to improve data quality
Visualizations that highlight gaps, trends, and performance bottlenecks
Training materials and user manuals accessible within the system
